Hey everyone, hope you’ve all been well.

Over at the NIH in Bethesda, I’ve passed the halfway point of my research year. Besides the anxiety of trying to finish up my year with my projects completed, I am also sad to see that the year is going by so fast! This year off has provided an opportunity for me to contemplate future career options with a clear head (plus some time to read books). Just last week my classmates at Michigan found out into which ophthalmology programs they matched– it’s crazy to think that I will hopefully be matching next year! I’m slowly and regrettably making my way into adulthood.

Besides research, I just turned 25 last month, which hasn’t been too bad so far. I celebrated by visiting a friend in LA and taking in as much of the sun that I could before going back to the cold. But given the ridiculous amount of cold that hit the Midwest, I’m happy to be in Bethesda to experience a milder winter for once.
